MARA DE VRIES
Mara was born on the 16th of July 1989 in the small village of Poederoijen. Growing up in a horse loving family she started riding on her first pony at the age of 4. Besides dressage she also loved jumping and eventing. As a 15 year old girl she competed in her first European Championships for ponies winning team silver. Followed by more Championships as a youth rider and travelling through Europe to compete and the International circuit. As a senior she competed and produced over 30 horses to Small Tour level and several horses to Grand Prix level. At Stal Poppelaars Mara is responsible for the training and competing our homebred horses as well as horses from our clients and focuses on bringing them to the highest level.
KOOS POPPELAARS
Koos was born on the 24th of July in 1984 in Kortgene. His parents had a breeding operation for pigs when they started farming and always had horses as a hobby. Quickly horses became more than a passionate hobby resulting in several approved stallions and first international sporthorses breaking through. Koos completed his Economics study after which he partnered up with his parents in the horse business. Since then he has been a member of several boards within the KWPN and other breeding assocations. After taking over the business from his parents he aims on breeding and producing the highest quality sporthorses. At Stal Poppelaars he is responsible for the management of the stable and horses as well as contact with our clients.
